Study Finds U.S. Healthcare Shortens Life Expectancy

The U.S. healthcare system is being blamed for shortening the American life expectancy.  Our nation which spends two and half time more than most other 'civilized' nations is demonstrating that more pills and more money spent on crisis care, does not equal a healthier, longer living society.  This Columbia University study found that the 15 year survival rate for Americans 45-65 is actually decreasing compared to that of the other 12 civilized nations.1 

"What really surprised researchers was that all of the usual suspects -- smoking, obesity, traffic accidents, and homicides -- are not the culprits," The main reasons for such a drop in life expectancy found by this study was the fact that so many Americans rely on fragmented, costly, specialized care. If more Americans had a doctor or healthcare provider who knew them personally and that gave them holistic, coordinated, less invasive, less costly care we would save billions of dollars and thousands of lives annually.
