A recent study conducted in Denmark and published in the Journal of Neural Plasticity shows that adjusting mis-aligned bones of the spine has a large effect on brain function.
Specifically, the study looked at how adjusting the spine changes the prefrontal cortex which is the conductor of the brain, the controller of conscious thought and where learning/cognition happens.
The study showed a 20% increase in prefrontal cortex activity following an adjustment of a mis-aligned vertebra.
This the 4th time that a study on chiropractic spinal adjustments has been shown to have a positive impact on brain function and the first time it was confirmed by an independent lab.
These results are exciting for all people who want to have a clear mind, healthy brain and want to function at their best. We see a lot of children in our office and I can’t think of anything more important for learning than having a clean, balance brain and nervous system. Many athletes utilize chiropractic care to stay at their best and this study only re-enforces the value of chiropractic care. People suffering with issues with sensory motor problems, balance, M.S., Parkinson’s and many other health concerns should consider chiropractic an option to help their brain function better.
